Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Luminary at theluminary.xyz and in the Luminary iOS app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Luminary is

Luminary is an interactive astrology and journaling product on the web and on iOS. Readings, briefings, chat, and related output are for entertainment and self-reflection only. They are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not use them as a substitute for a qualified professional. You are responsible for your decisions.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for the accuracy of birth data you enter, including other people you add as relationships.

Accounts

Keep your password confidential. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, scrape the API, probe other users’ data, or overload model providers. You may delete your account from Coordinates. See the Privacy Policy.

Plans and payment

Nebula is free with quotas. Constellation and Cosmos are monthly subscriptions. Prices are shown on the site and in the App Store. New accounts may receive a short trial of paid features; when the trial ends, quotas return to the free plan unless you subscribe. Paid time already elapsed is not refunded except where required by law.

On the website, paid plans are billed by Stripe. Cancel anytime from Billing (Stripe Customer Portal).

On iOS, paid plans are Apple auto-renewable subscriptions in the group “Luminary Plans”: Constellation Monthly ($4.99 USD / 1 month) and Cosmos Monthly ($9.99 USD / 1 month). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and standard App Store terms apply to those charges. Restore purchases from inside the iOS app. Stripe is not used for iOS digital subscriptions.

AI and accuracy

Model output can be wrong, incomplete, or inconsistent. Sun signs are computed from an ingress table. Moon and Rising are omitted without birth time and location — we will not invent them. You agree not to rely on Luminary for safety-critical matters.

Acceptable use

• No attempting to access other people’s journals, chats, or charts.
• No reverse-engineering or redistributing the Codex contract or paid content.
• No using the public API beyond documented quotas or without a valid token.
• No illegal content or harassment.

Intellectual property

The product, design, and reference catalog are owned by Luminary. You keep rights to the journal text you write. You grant us a license to process that text solely to provide the service.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, Luminary is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make after reading a generated text. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or fifty US dollars, whichever is greater.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after a posted change is acceptance. Material changes to paid plans will be reflected in Billing before they apply to you.
